This doesn't have anything to do with God; this has to do with another politician who believes he has the right to tell women what they should do with their bodies. (And according to Todd Akin how female biology work, cause apparently male politicians know so much about that). Murdock, or any other politician, has no right to tell a victim of rape, that she has to relive that violation every day, for another nine months. And I may not be a religious person per say, but I don't think God would be that sadistic either. I really hope that's not what mainstream Christians believe. I do believe in God, but I can't believe in a god that would be that deliberately malicious. Republicans have approved that Viagra be readily available, but not contraceptives for women (Source: http://www.politicususa.com/gop-viagra-planned-parenthood.html). So I ask these questions of all Republicans, who agree with Murdock's statements: Why do you want to take away a woman's right to protect herself? And Why are you trying to take away a Woman's right to say 'No,'? Frankly, Why are you making all these policies against Women? WHY DO YOU HATE WOMEN?

I agree with you here. I am a gun owner, and I'm also a rational human being. I am horrified by the ignorant fearful things that come out of the mouth of some gun owners.

I think they have some sort of minutemen type Revolutionary War fantasy where they use their guns to save the country and preserve freedom for all future generations. They don't seem to understand how different things are now, compared to the days of Paul Revere.

I think they should be rallying to protect their first amendment rights. This is really what protects us from the government. People who fear the government should be educating themselves and getting involved in politics, not hoarding guns.

Meh... Preaching to the choir.

My heart aches for the families of Sandy Hook Elementary. Some friends and I are making snowflakes this weekend, to send to them.

Re: Psy

I heard the song once and felt I had to own it. It's impressively catchy. I don't usually invest in a new artist so quickly.

I saw the video and read about it, after I already owned the song for a couple of weeks. The video is brilliant, in my opinion. The song itself is actually social satire and apparently this sort of thing is uncommon in K-pop. Gangnam is the ritzy area of the city where the affluent folks live lavishly and not so wealthy go there to sit in coffee shops to pose.

Psy is a graduate of Berkeky College of Music in Boston. I found this fact pretty cool. Apparently he is a big time pop star in South Korea and he is the first Korean pop star to ever be a hit in Europe and America. His success is having a huge impact on his genre. The fact that his social satire has been so successful is paving the way for more socially relevant K-pop. I imagine that it's also making it easier for people to publicly voice negative opinions of social norms.

Anyway... That's my interesting tid bit to share.

Thanks for putting together this blog post. It was really informative.
